What is the best way to make mint julips?
Make a big old pitcher full and lett the mint steep overnight.

1 tsp. sugar

1 1/2 jiggers bourbon whiskey

Crush mint leaves and sugar in a 12 ounce glass. Fill with cracked ice and whiskey. Stir until glass frosts. Decorate with mint sprig.
Reply:above recipe is good ,but sometimes the sugar doesn't dissolve completely, what restaurants do is make simple syrup[1cup of water+1 cup of sugar+heat=smooth sweet syrup]

combine mint and whiskey ,muddle, add syrup and ice .or..

you could add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker and shake the hell out of it,serving in old fashioned glasses.
Reply:Listen to the Ole Man. You have to make the simple syrup first. I'm in Louisville, Kentucky. The home of the Mint Julip. Use Old Forrester or Makers Mark bourbon.
