Why does drinking water after eating mint make your mouth feel cooler?
I'm a dentist.

This topic was definitely not covered in dental school, but I'll make a stab at it.

I'd imagine that mint is, to a small extent, an irritant to the mucosa in your mouth. As such, it makes your mouth hypersensitive to temperature changes (such as that which would occur when you drink water).
