Reply:Herbs like a lot of sun and there fore like growing out of doors. If you grow in a pot or pots, you can bring the plants indoors for a couple of hours a day.

Mint grows from runners and takes over you garden beds, so this one is a good one for a pot. Basils grows well in the garden or in a pot or container. Basil doesn't like cold weather. Chives can be grown all year in a pot or container and you can cut want you need to cook with. Good Luck and have fun.
Reply:All of them can be grown indoors. I wouldn't put them all in the same pot though. Mint especially can act like a weed in the garden if you're not careful to fully separate it from others.

I've grown all these herbs successfully from seeds. All you have to do to germinate them is sprinkle the seeds over moist potting soil and then cover it with thin layer of potting soil and mist with water. If the pot is small enough, I put a clear plastic bag over them to keep it humid. Just be sure to air it out every couple of days so you don't get mold but make sure the soil remains moist. The plastic bag can come off once they're well established.
