I would definitely not buy medallions or similar from here ior anywhere. You will probably be paying a premium for the design which will not be reflected in your selling (or investment) price.
Check the price of gold coins with the cost of the metal (allowing for alloy percentage). Of course you will be paying a premium but it should not be much. Do they buy coins back?
